ARIA \u2014 the UK\u2019s Advanced Research and Invention Agency \u2014 has launched its \u00a362.4 million&nbsp;<strong>Synthetic Plants<\/strong>&nbsp;programme, supporting efforts to make future crops more productive, resilient, and resource-efficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bright Biotech has been awarded&nbsp;<strong>\u00a31 million in Phase One funding<\/strong>&nbsp;to contribute its expertise in advanced chloroplast technology. The company will apply its proprietary platform to help develop enhanced crop plants that are more productive, resilient and sustainable \u2014 advancing ARIA\u2019s goal of increasing global food security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bright Biotech is one of seven R&amp;D Creator teams selected by ARIA to&nbsp;<strong>build, deliver and maintain improved chloroplasts and chromosomes in plants<\/strong>, enabling complex traits that are not achievable using conventional gene editing methods.
